UCSC alumna Bridgette Auger was following women activists in Egypt’s Tahrir Square last week when they came under fire during a clash between protesters and police. Governor's budget announcement
Gov. Jerry Brown today announced a budget plan that, if approved by the Legislature, would slash public spending by $12.5 billion. The governor's proposed budget includes a cut of $500 million from the University of California's budget, as well as a cut of $500 million from the California State University system. The scope of these cuts is of grave concern to everyone who cares about higher education in California.
