Based on the success of the Zipcar program both on campus and in the Santa Cruz community, I am pleased to announce that three additional Zipcars are now available in Santa Cruz for use by all UCSC students, staff and faculty. Whether you live on campus or in town, you do not need to own your own car—consider car sharing instead. Reduce your expenses, lower your carbon footprint, yet still have "wheels when you want them."
One additional vehicle will be added to the Olive Street pod (at Mission near the CVS Pharmacy) and a new pod of two cars is located on Soquel Avenue in front of the Whole Foods shopping area.
These three new vehicles augment the eight cars located on campus at the East Field House, Upper College Eight, Heller/McLaughlin intersection, and at College Nine/Ten. In addition, five more Zipcars are available in and around downtown Santa Cruz: at the Cathcart/Cedar Street parking lot, the Walnut Tree parking lot (on Cedar between Union and Center Street), and on Laurel Street near Blackburn.
To join Zipcar or for more information please go to www.zipcar.com/ucsc or call Teresa Buika, TAPS, at 831-502-7941.
Please continue to help UCSC lead the way in reducing transportation impacts throughout the Santa Cruz community. Go Green this Spring!
