Campus Status
1:45 p.m.—Metro service has resumed.
1:37 p.m.—Inbound and outbound traffic is flowing through both the main entrance and the west entrance. Demonstrators have left both entrances.
1:20 p.m.—The campus community is encouraged to use the west entrance. No activity at the west entrance, except about five demonstrators on the sidewalk at Heller Drive and Oakes Road. The main entrance has about 25 demonstrators blocking inbound traffic. No problems with outbound traffic.
12:34 p.m.—No status updates at this point. The next update will be at 1:30 p.m. unless there's new information to share.
12:02 p.m.—Reminder: Expect even more significant traffic congestion and delays from now until about 1:30 p.m.
11:33 a.m.—Strike activities continue near both entrances to campus. Inbound traffic continues to move through the west entrance with outbound traffic being re-routed on Heller Drive between Rachel Carson College and Oakes Road.
11:03 a.m.—Traffic continues to move through west entrance. Outbound traffic is being re-routed on Heller Drive between Rachel Carson College and Oakes Road.
10:39 a.m.—The campus community can anticipate even more significant traffic congestion and delays from noon to 1:30 p.m.
9:19 a.m.—Expect major delays due to traffic congestion because of the strike.
8:26 a.m.—UCSC police officers are redirecting traffic from the main entrance to the west entrance.
8 a.m.—Campus shuttles are running within the campus, from the Barn Theater through upper campus to the West Remote Parking Lot.
7:51 a.m.—Traffic still moving through both entrances. Proceed with caution. Campus shuttles are running within the campus.
7:11 a.m.—Traffic on Coolidge Drive heading on campus continues to flow, but is backing up from Ranchview Road down to the main entrance. Drive carefully.
6:48 a.m.—Traffic is being allowed through at both entrances. Drive carefully and cautiously. It may take some time to get to campus. The campus is open and operational. Keep checking for more updates.
6:45 a.m.—All five campus dining halls are open.
6:40 a.m.—Demonstrators are allowing some traffic through on Coolidge Drive. Demonstrators are blocking traffic on Heller Drive at Oakes Road.
6:14 a.m.—About 15 demonstrators are blocking traffic on Coolidge Drive, just north of Ranchview Road. The west entrance is open. The campus is open and operational. Check back for more updates.
6:10 a.m.—There are 5 to 7 demonstrators picketing along Hagar and Coolidge drives. The campus is open and operational. Check back for more updates.
