Staff members, students and faculty snapped hundreds of pictures of UC Santa Cruz and submitted them for a once-a-year contest sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office and the Arts Division.

But these recepients of honorable mentions had very different visions of the campus.

Some of the shots are moody, and others are wry and funny — especially Alexandro Zamora’s portrait of “Bat Girl” having a restful moment on campus.

More than 200 people submitted their work for the contest this year.

Their images capture bridges, forests, administrative buildings, park benches and dormitories.

This online photo gallery is a virtual tour of campus at all hours of the day — in fog, at sunset, at dusk and in the morning.
