Chancellor's office sets budget meetings for faculty and staff

To: UCSC Community

From: Assistant Chancellor Ashish Sahni

As announced earlier messages UCSC is facing its fourth consecutive year of budget cuts. This presents an unprecedented challenge as we seek to develop new ways of functioning in an era of diminished resources. We are committed to continuing the involvement of the campus community as this affects all of us.

The Chancellor’s Office is hosting two town-hall meetings next week:

Budget Forum for staff co-sponsored by the Staff Advisory Board

  • March 3, 2011
  • 12–1:30 p.m.
  • College 9/10 Multipurpose Room

Budget Forum for faculty and academic employees co-sponsored by the Academic Senate

  • March 3, 2011
  • 4-5:30 p.m.
  • College 9/10 Multipurpose Room

Plans are also underway for a Budget Forum for students.

At each forum Chancellor Blumenthal and CP/EVC Galloway and others will provide the latest about UC’s and UCSC’s budget projections and about the possible impacts at UCSC.  Much of the time at each forum will be devoted to address your questions and hear your comments.

Please note: For those unable to attend one or more of these events, all events will be recorded and made available for later viewing. Links to the recordings will be available at http://www.ucsc.edu/budget_update/.
