BAS Institute offers staff insight into campus processes, policies
Business and Administrative Services (BAS) next month will roll out a new program designed to help staff navigate the multitude of processes and policies in the areas of Travel & Entertainment, Compensation, Recruitment & Talent Acquisition, and Procurement.

Formal review/campus community comment for the Environmental, Health & Safety Policy
The purpose of the policy is to establish a baseline of minimum standard for all University of California locations and ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Notice of new law prohibiting state funding of travel to certain states
As AB 1887 applies to the university, it prohibits state funds from being used to pay for travel to a state that authorizes discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression; or voids or repeals existing state or local protections against such discrimination.

Winter meditation schedule, special session set for Jan. 19
The sessions are free and open to faculty, staff, and students. No prior meditation experience is needed. The exercises are nondenominational and secular.

Scheduled Labor Strike at UC campuses on January 10, 2017
The University has been informed that there will be a clerical union labor strike on all of its campuses and medical centers on January 10, 2017.

Student Health Center reduced hours on December 14, 2016
The Student Health Services staff will be in a required training on the morning of Wednesday December 14th, and therefore the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Student Health Outreach Promotion (SHOP) will be closed for patient/client care until 1:30 that day.
