Three ways to give this season

Whether through volunteering, giving, or encouraging others to join in, you help strengthen our campus and our Santa Cruz County community at a time when generosity makes an even greater difference.

Dear Campus Community,

As the season of giving begins, we’re reminded of how much our UC Santa Cruz community contributes to one another and to the wider world. Whether through volunteering, giving, or encouraging others to join in, you help strengthen our campus and our Santa Cruz County community at a time when generosity makes an even greater difference.

This fall, there are three great ways to give back:

UC Santa Cruz Giving Day
On November 5, join the campus, alumni, and friends for Giving Day, a 24-hour, online celebration that fuels student success and innovation across UC Santa Cruz. Every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact.

Find a project that inspires you: givingday.ucsc.edu.

United Way Campaign
The annual UC Santa Cruz United Way Campaign kicks off on November 10 and runs through the end of 2025 in support of United Way of Santa Cruz County. This year’s theme, United is the Way, celebrates the power of collective action to build a stronger, more resilient community.

Holiday Food & Fund Drive
From December 1 to January 15, take part in the Staff Advisory Board’s Holiday Food & Fund Drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank, which provides nutritious food and education for students, employees, and neighbors all year. As part of that effort, UCSC Dining and the Student Volunteer Center rally students to donate as well

If you’d like to make an early gift to the Holiday Food & Fund Drive, visit the donation webpage

Thank you for bringing the spirit of giving to life at UC Santa Cruz. Every act of giving, large or small, helps our community thrive.

Sincerely,
