Dear Colleagues,
Earlier this week, I sent a message about possible dates for labor activity. We now have updated information. The University of California has received strike notices from both AFSCME and UPTE. AFSCME has noticed its intent to strike across all campuses and medical centers for 48 hours, from Wednesday, November 20 to Thursday, November 21. UPTE has also noticed its intent to strike only at UCSF during this same period.
Guidance from the Academic Senate about instruction will be forthcoming early next week.
Information about campus operations on strike days will be posted at https://ucsc.edu/status. The campus may also send SlugSafe notifications as appropriate.
