UC Santa Cruz’s Innovation & Business Engagement Hub is partnering with Santa Cruz Works on Blue Innovation Day 2024, an event featuring activities and exhibits from companies, artists, small businesses, non-profits, and researchers who are committed to combating the water and ocean challenges exacerbated by climate change. Blue Innovation Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center.

The event aims to bring together researchers, organizations, community members, and innovators to collaborate on solutions to protect our oceans and water sources. There will be live music, food trucks, tours, scavenger hunts, a raffle, hands-on activities for all ages, lightning talks, exhibits, and interactive displays showcasing the latest advancements in marine science.

All outdoor activities (e.g., lightning talks, exhibits, tours, bands, food trucks, etc.) are free and open to the public. Workshops require paid admission and access to the Seymour Center’s interior exhibit hall; both require a separate admission fee. Register for the free event on the UC Santa Cruz events calendar.

Blue Innovation 2024 is hosted by Santa Cruz Works and the Seymour Marine Discovery Center at UC Santa Cruz in collaboration with UC Santa Cruz Innovation and Business Engagement Hub, the City of Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County Office of Education, and Cabrillo College. The event is sponsored by the UC Santa Cruz Center for Coastal Climate Resilience, the Ocean Film Festival, and O’Neill Sea Odyssey.

Please visit the event website or contact Santa Cruz Works to register, volunteer, or inquire about sponsorship opportunities.
