Dear Campus Community,
Now that the main entrance to our residential campus is open and we have two accessible entrances, we will return to in-person instruction on Monday, June 3.
We ask instructors to respond to student inquiries about instructional modality with flexibility and an accommodative approach. We encourage students to talk with their instructors if they have questions or concerns about classes this week.
Instructors with questions about instructional modality are encouraged to contact cpevc@ucsc.edu. If individual circumstances dictate, instructors should use their best judgment about instructional modality and should communicate directly with students to let them know alternate arrangements for classes, such as rescheduling or remote instruction. The Teaching and Learning Center has resources available for instructional continuity in a wide range of circumstances. Students are encouraged to look for emails from their instructors with guidance for their courses. Instructors and students should contact the Disability Resource Center for support and assistance with accessibility needs.
Employees should check with their managers and supervisors to determine whether they need to be onsite.
More information about real-time updates and campus services is available at ucsc.edu/campus-status/.
Your patience and flexibility during this time is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Lori Kletzer
Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
