Power outage at the residential campus

The UC Santa Cruz residential campus is in the midst of intermittent power outages due to under voltage from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). We are working with PG&E to address this issue. We will likely not restore power until utility power has stabilized for at least an hour. This means 3 p.m. is probably the soonest power will be restored.

Other areas directly served by PG&E appear to have power at this time, including Family Student Housing, Ranch View Terrace, Cardiff Terrace, Hagar Court, Lower Campus, and Arboretum.

The Coastal Science Campus and Westside Research Park are not affected.

The cogeneration plant is offline due to semi-annual maintenance, though campus generators are running to provide emergency backup power to some facilities.
