Important parking information for Banana Slug Day on April 13

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Michelle Whittingham, Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management

As we prepare to welcome admitted students to campus for Banana Slug Day on Saturday, April 13, we want to provide details for those who plan to be on campus that day.

This year, Banana Slug Day promises to be a record-breaking occasion with 6,000 students and their families joining us for the event.

Banana Slug Day also coincides with Alumni Reunion Weekend and other on-campus events.

Campus parking and facilities will be heavily impacted:

  • Hahn parking lot (Lot 101) will remain a visitor-only parking area, with limited access to ParkMobile spots.
  • Additionally, visitors will be parking in Lot 103A (East Field House), Lot 104 (East Remote) Lot 112 (Core West), Lot 150A (North Perimeter), Lots 160 & 162 (Rachel Carson College), and Lots 301 & 302 (Westside Research Park).
  • For alternative parking options, please refer to the TAPS parking map.

We encourage staff and faculty who need to come to campus to expect traffic delays and consider sustainable commute options such as Campus Transit Shuttles, METRO, BCycle, or biking.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we welcome our guests during this very special UC Santa Cruz weekend! Your support helps us showcase our campus and community to our future alumni and their families. Thank you.
