Visits set for Vice Chancellor for Research finalists

Beginning May 1 and continuing through May 11, the UC Santa Cruz community will have the opportunity to meet, hear from, and ask questions of the finalists for Vice Chancellor for Research (VCR).

Each of the finalists will be on campus for two days, meeting with campus constituencies. During their visit, each finalist will give a town-hall talk for a campus-wide audience. These talks will involve a 30- to 40-minute presentation, followed by a 40- to 50-minute moderated Q&A. Each finalist will also give an academic talk, intended for faculty, students, and researchers. Remote attendees will be able to ask questions in real time via chat. All UCSC faculty, staff and students are invited to attend these talks. Both talks will be recorded for later viewing.

Each finalist will also take part in two 50-minute forums that are open for all faculty. Zoom links to the forums can be found online.

Students are invited to attend a 50-minute student-only lunch meeting with each finalist. Attendees must RSVP to attend a lunch session.

The name and details of each finalist will be released one week prior to their two-day campus visit. This information can be found online. You will need to be signed in to your UCSC account to access this information. To respect candidate privacy and the integrity of the process, please do not share candidate names, curriculum vitaes, visit schedules, or related links outside of the campus community.
