Registration is now open for Alumni Reunion Weekend taking place April 14-15.

Alumni Reunion Weekend is fast approaching and registration is now open. 

This exciting weekend—taking place April 14-15—will be filled with intimate college gatherings, larger events with classmates celebrating their 50th (or greater) reunion milestones, time to mingle with current students and campus leadership, opportunities to explore campus, and a special moment to be honored as a Golden Slug Alumni.

Additionally, Alumni Reunion Weekend will happen in conjunction with Banana Slug Day—an event welcoming newly admitted students and their families to UCSC. The UCSC Campus will be vibrant with an opportunity for alumni to mingle with prospective students and their families. 

“We’re looking forward to inviting our pioneer alumni (classes of 1965-73) back to campus for a very special reunion weekend,” says Assistant Vice Chancellor of Alumni Engagement John Pine. “This reunion weekend will look different from years past, we really listened to what alumni have been asking for.” 

With a modernized and re-envisioned program, organizers aim to provide a more meaningful way for alumni to engage.

“In past years, 50th reunions have been spearheaded by our amazing alumni volunteers with the support of the UCSC alumni engagement team,” says Executive Director of Alumni Engagement Shayna Kent. “Beginning in 2023, our focus on organizing and celebrating 50+ Reunion Classes is an opportunity to honor our history and celebrate an important milestone for our alumni.” 

Events include:

Thursday, April 13 (virtual)

  • 5:30-7 p.m. How we're still changing the World—A virtual gathering of the pioneer classes for an inspiring conversation about how UCSC’s pioneers are changing the world.

Friday, April 14 (on campus)

  • 6-9 p.m. 50+ Class Reunion Celebration—Celebrating and honoring our Golden Slug alumni from the classes of 1965–73. Hosted by Chancellor Larive & the UCSC Alumni Association.

Saturday, April 15 (on campus)

  • 8:30–10 a.m. Coffee and Ferrell’s donuts in the Cowell Courtyard
  • 10–12 noon College gatherings and campus rolling tours
  • 12 –1 p.m. Enjoy one of many lunch options on campus
  • 1–3 p.m. College gatherings and campus rolling tours
  • 3–5 p.m. Provost Open Houses; mix, mingle, and celebrate
