To: UCSC Community

From: Patricia L. Hardaway Interim Associate Vice Chancellor Staff Human Resources and Grace McClintock Assistant Vice Provost Academic Personnel

Recently, we informed you that the campus wishes to support our community members who have been impacted by the California winter 2022-23 storms. The UC Santa Cruz Employee Emergency Accrued Vacation Payout Program is now activated.  Program guidelines, eligibility requirements, and instructions can be found online. You can apply today through April 30, 2023. Applications for the program must be received on or before April 30, 2023.

The program is a temporary resource for eligible UCSC employees who are experiencing unexpected financial challenges as a result of California’s winter 2022-23 storms. The program provides a one time payout of up to 80 hours of accrued vacation and is open to represented and policy-covered academic appointees and represented and policy-covered staff employees, including probationary, career, partial-year career, limited and contract employees, who meet eligibility requirements.

We hope this emergency program helps to ease the burden for those who are recovering from the severe storms.
