Big changes are coming soon to the Bay Tree Bookstore Building and the campus community is invited to help envision what could be.
This Thursday, October 20, students are invited to stop by Quarry Plaza between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m and McHenry Library between 2 and 3:30 p.m. to share ideas, answer questions, and provide feedback that will help determine just what a redesigned Bay Tree Building will look like and how it can best serve students needs.
It’s full speed ahead to transform the building into a bustling hub of student services. The project will consist of multiple stages, starting with a robust visioning phase that begins this week with the aforementioned pop-up events and will continue with stakeholder feedback sessions and campus town halls. The effort to redesign and renovate the Bay Tree building and surrounding area will be led by a multi-unit, cross-divisional planning and building committee.
The project is expected to take three years to reach completion. If all goes well with visioning, preliminary plans should be presented to the university in winter quarter. Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to be involved in this project’s planning and development.
