The application period for a campus Ombuds is now open. The position will be an important one at UC Santa Cruz, as the Ombuds will provide impartial, informal, independent and confidential resolution services to all campus constituencies.
A 2019 review of the Chancellor’s Office and existing compliance units revealed an opportunity to streamline resolution services on campus. In spring 2022, an external review team communicated with numerous campus stakeholders, and ultimately issued a report that recommended the hiring of a campus Ombuds.
Associate Campus Provost Adrian Brasoveanu is chairing the search. Spelman Johnson, a leading national executive search firm, is assisting. Campus leaders hope to complete the search by the end of the 2022 calendar year.
