Temporary change to vacation accrual maximum ends June 30, 2022

To: UCSC Community

From: Steve Stein, Associate Vice Chancellor & Chief Human Resource Officer Staff Human Resources

As a reminder, the vacation accrual maximum in UC’s Absence from Work policy (PPSM-2.210), was temporarily lifted effective June 1, 2020, to allow policy-covered staff more time to use their accrued vacation leave to bring their accrual below the maximum. That temporary change was extended through June 30, 2022, by President Michael V. Drake, M.D, which is now coming to an end and will not be further extended.

Policy-covered staff who have reached their maximum vacation leave accrual limit before March 1, 2022, and who have already been provided with at least an additional four (4) months within which to take vacation leave during the extension approved, will not continue to accrue additional vacation leave starting July 1, 2022, until they bring their vacation leave balance below their maximum.  Policy-covered staff will not lose any vacation already accrued through June 30, 2022, even if they are over their maximum vacation leave accrual.

Please note: To find your maximum accrual, log into your UCPath Online account at ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu, then select Employee Actions > Leave Balances. Your maximum vacation accrual is displayed at the bottom of the chart.
