Recruitment for Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Now Active

The leadership recruitment for campus’ first Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is now live. The vice chancellor will partner with leadership campuswide to guide our inclusivity efforts, working proactively to build a more welcoming and equitable institution. The role will encompass serving as the university’s Chief Diversity Officer.

The recruitment process started last month with Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Herbie Lee, who is chairing the search, and members of the executive search firm WittKieffer meeting with faculty, staff and students in special stakeholder sessions to gather their thoughts on the qualifications necessary for the position. Campus leaders hope to complete the search by the end of the academic year.

Judith Estrada, executive director of our Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, has served as interim Chief Diversity Officer since July. She will continue in that role until the new vice chancellor arrives on campus.

For more details about the process or the position and how to apply, visit the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion recruitment page. The first application review date will be April 30, with applications being accepted until the position is filled.
