The majority of course offerings for UC Santa Cruz Summer Session are now listed at summer.ucsc.edu. Next summer will offer both in-person and online courses.
There are hundreds of choices, from topical priorities like Community Activism and Pandemics: Case Studies in Public Health to diverse fields like History of Hip Hop and Video Games as Visual Culture. UC Santa Cruz is also offering engaging and hands-on classes, too, including Improvisation, Writing Science Fiction, and Gamelan Ensemble - as well as foundational courses in math, sciences, psychology, and economics.
“Our main priority continues to be offering courses UCSC students need for their degree progress,” said Monica Parikh, director of Summer Session. “The fact that the summer quarter is open to everyone also enables us to welcome a diverse group of students visiting from other colleges, universities, and high schools.”
Most courses are five credits and take place during accelerated five-week sessions. Eligible high school students get half off tuition to encourage college preparation and major exploration.
With multiple sessions, summer allows students ample time to study with world-class instructors, while still working, interning, or taking a break.
Information and course offerings are at summer.ucsc.edu.
