Search begins for vice chancellor for Information Technology

Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to announce the kickoff of the leadership recruitment for the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology (VCIT).

This position is vitally important for our campus. We will conduct a national search, and the search advisory committee will be co-chaired by University Extension Dean PK Agarwal and Vice Chancellor of University Relations Mark Davis. The executive search firm Opus Partners will support us in developing a diverse pool of qualified candidates and engaging with the campus community throughout the process.

During the next few weeks, the co- chairs and search firm will hold stakeholder meetings with constituent groups. These conversations will provide us with input on the position and help us describe the role fully in a way that reflects the impact of IT on our campus and that is aligned with our vision and goals.

Survey: For any students, faculty, or staff who wish to offer input via a survey, a link can be found on the search page.

For more information about the process, visit the search page for the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology. Applications may be submitted beginning Nov. 1.

I am very grateful to interim Vice Chancellor for Information Technology Byron Walker, who has served in that role since August 2021, and who has agreed to continue serving until the successful conclusion of the search.

If you have any questions about the search or the recruitment process, please contact Andrea Cohen at acohen@ucsc.edu.

Sincerely,

Cindy
