Parking fees reduction

To: UCSC Community

From: Chancellor Cynthia Larive; Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Services Sarah Latham

As part of our ongoing efforts to support our employees and students, campus parking fees for the 2021-22 academic year are being subsidized centrally to reduce fees by 15 percent for individual affiliates who purchase quarterly, annual, or multi-year A, B, C, or R parking permits. All other campus parking and program fees will remain the same. The reduced fees will go into effect Sept. 1.

More information on the various permits available to campus community members and the reduced fees is available on the TAPS website. You'll also find details on how those who prepaid for 2021-22 permits can receive refunds and how the reduced fees will impact those paying for permits through payroll deduction.

Employees and eligible students who would like to purchase parking permits for the fall quarter and beyond can avoid the last-minute rush by applying now for a permit. As of today, R permits are still available. They typically sell out quickly.

For those interested in alternatives to driving to campus or driving solo, please visit the commuter page on the TAPS website or email with your question. TAPS also offers flexible alternatives for those who don't come to campus daily, such as Limited Day permits.

TAPS is committed to providing sustainable, equitable, and safe access to UCSC.
