We are pleased to share that University of California President Michael Drake alerted all campuses earlier today that the Office of the President has decided to proceed with a salary increase of 3 percent for all policy-covered staff and academic employees for the 2021-22 fiscal year. By providing a general increase, this salary program recognizes the efforts put forth by all of our policy-covered employees during the pandemic.
We extend our gratitude and deep appreciation for the efforts undertaken by all staff and faculty over the past 14 months. You have displayed an incredible work ethic and commitment to the continued success of this university and our students. For that, we are truly grateful, and we are pleased that the Office of the President is proceeding with a general salary increase.
For policy-covered staff, this means a 3 percent increase to their base salary, effective July 1. The adjustment to the academic salary scales will be effective Oct. 1 for policy-covered faculty, July 1 for other policy-covered academic appointees.
Union-represented staff and academic employees are not included in this program, as their wages are governed by collective-bargaining agreements.
