Dear Slugs,
As we near the end of the winter quarter, I am reaching out to wish you all the best with final exams, and to remind you that the Division of Student Affairs and Success (DSAS) continues to provide support throughout your college journey, whether it be in person or remotely. Our team has already started planning for spring, summer and even fall services and engagement, and we are looking forward to being together again soon.
Spring break may look a little different this year, and I hope you find the opportunity to relax. I encourage you to stay local to wherever you are in hopes of mitigating the spread of COVID-19. There are a number of spring break activities to check out:
- Our UCSC Slugcast podcast series, which is hosted by our team of student podcasters and currently has nearly 30 episodes,
- An Instagram challenge and scavenger hunt to help you stay connected to the UCSC community wherever you are. GrubHub gift cards will be given to students who participate, and more information will be shared on Instagram at @ucsc.dsas.
- For students staying on campus over spring break, a full list of UCSC “staycation ideas” can be found here.
Also, I encourage you to stay connected during spring break by following our Instagram at @ucsc.dsas for updates and resources.
This year has led to creativity and resilience from our students, and we look forward to finishing off this challenging year on a strong note.
In community,
Jennifer Baszile
Interim Vice Chancellor
