The Division of Undergraduate Education is undertaking a search for the 2021–23 Faculty Director of Honors.
The Office of Campus Advising Coordination and the Colleges encourage and enhance the academic experience of students who seek challenge and growth. We do this through the development and support of communities of learning, such as the UC Santa Cruz (UCSC) College Scholars Program and coordination of other academic challenge programs throughout the university. We provide recognition of academic achievement through support of academic awards and prestigious scholarships (both local awards and scholarships, such as the Karl S. Pister, Deans’ and Chancellor awards, and other competitive opportunities such as the Donald A. Strauss Scholarship), as well as support and coordination of the UCSC chapters of national academic honors societies of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
The Faculty Director of Honors serves as the academic leadership for the College Scholars Program, working closely with the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education (VPDUE), College Provosts, the Coordinator for Undergraduate Honors Opportunities, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and faculty to provide a robust, cohort-based first-year experience for well-prepared and highly engaged students. The Faculty Director advances and promotes high-impact educational experiences at all levels of the institution.
This appointment will be on a fiscal year basis, with an intended start date of July 1, 2021.
