Earlier today, University of California President Michael Drake announced that all 10 campuses are planning for a return to primarily in-person instruction for fall 2021. This information will be helpful to us all as we begin planning for the coming academic year.
As our whole Banana Slug community eagerly anticipates the ability to again come together, we want to assure everyone that the health and well-being of our community remains a high priority, and we will carefully plan for how we resume additional in-person operations to support the expansion of in-person instruction. While we are currently going through a difficult surge in the pandemic, with a successful vaccination program we believe that we will be able to have the majority of our on-campus experiences return in the fall.
We will share more information as we develop our plans for returning to our residential campus, Scotts Valley Center, Silicon Valley Campus, and other sites. We are working on the rollout of a campus COVID-19 vaccination strategy and additional information will be shared in the coming weeks. We will continue to be flexible and ready to adapt as the pandemic conditions continue to evolve.
We want to acknowledge and applaud the strength and determination of our campus community in advancing our mission through a global pandemic. We very much look forward to the day when we can once again cross paths on campus, and enjoy again all the elements that make our campus and community so special.
