2021 Summer Session remote courses launch

Course offerings for UC Santa Cruz Summer Session are now listed at summer.ucsc.edu. Most courses will continue to be offered remotely or online. There will be more than 350 courses, from topical priorities like Community Activism, Pandemics: Case Studies in Public Health, and American Capitalism, to diverse fields like Life in the Sea and the Evolution of the Human Diet, to engaging classes like Improv, Illustrating Stories, and Music of the Grateful Dead.

“We pride ourselves on offering the courses UCSC students need to graduate,” said Monica Parikh, director of Summer Session. “And at the same time, summer quarter is open to everyone. Remote instruction increases accessibility and flexibility for our Slugs and visitors from Santa Cruz and around the world.”

Most courses are five credits and take place during five-week sessions. For the second year in a row, eligible high school students get half off tuition to encourage college preparation and major exploration.

With multiple sessions, summer allows students ample time to study with world-class instructors, while still being able to work, intern, or take a break.
