We are pleased to share that resources are available for those faced with legal and financial issues resulting from the fires. Staff and faculty employees can visit ARAGlegal.com/fires for resources to help you with the legal and financial issues caused by a fire, regardless of whether you have legal insurance through UC. The site includes how to protect your rights as a homeowner or renter, managing insurance disputes, and more.

If you’re not enrolled in ARAG legal insurance, ARAG has offered to extend its Legal Now program to our employees. The cost for the program is $99 for 90 days of legal support for a single legal matter, e.g. property insurance support. Coverage is available now. Individuals who purchase coverage receive access to ARAG’s book of vetted attorneys and a 25% discount on their normal hourly fees. The plan offers assistance with more than 70 common legal matters, and connects participants with local attorneys in-person when possible, or by phone if they need a specialist and there isn’t one in the network near them.
