The UC Santa Cruz emergency order is lifted and the campus is in the midst of a phased effort to recover from the CZU Wildfire.
The Coastal Science Campus, Westside Research Park, and parts of the residential campus have reopened. Pursuant to the chancellor’s authority, many buildings at the residential campus remain closed for assessment and cleaning, and will be opened once cleared by appropriate departments. Ongoing updates are available at ucsc.edu/fire.
I appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we evacuated UC Santa Cruz and responded to this emergency.
