UCSC appreciates and values our international students and we realize this unexpected guidance from SEVP creates additional stress and uncertainty for our international students. Our campus will do all that we can to support our students while complying with these changes and minimizing disruption to coursework and research at UCSC. This is an evolving situation and we are exploring all options. We will provide an additional update by early next week and more information as it becomes available.

With yesterday’s update, requirements for students in F-1 status have changed. Students in F-1 status at schools that have moved to a hybrid instruction model must enroll in at least one in-person course this fall to remain in or enter the United States.
