In Memoriam: Allison Endert

To: UCSC Community

From: Kent Eaton, chair of Politics and Mark Fathi Massoud, director of Legal Studies

With tremendous sorrow we write of the death this week of Allison Endert, 44, in Santa Cruz. Allison was a longtime friend of UCSC. She graduated from UCSC in 2000 (Oakes College) with a BA in Politics. She worked in local politics on the staff for former state legislator John Laird, former mayor Neal Coonerty, and current county supervisor Ryan Coonerty, who is also a continuing lecturer in the Legal Studies Program. Most recently Allison took the lead in pushing forward a Countywide Proclamation honoring our graduates and declaring June 12, 2020, as UCSC Politics and Legal Studies Graduates Day. Our hearts go out to Allison's family, to Supervisor Coonerty who lost a friend and colleague, and to the entire Santa Cruz community for this loss.
