SAB elections, leadership town hall update, news about Thumbs Up Awards

To: UC Santa Cruz Staff

From: Staff Advisory Board

Dear UCSC Staff,

We have a lot of updates for our campus community in this announcement. More details for all of them may be found on our webpage.

Chancellor and Leadership Staff Forum

Chancellor Cynthia Larive and the campus leadership team will hold another staff forum, which will be streamed live from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5. The SAB will make brief introductions, the chancellor will make some very brief remarks, but almost the whole time will be reserved for Q&A. While much about the campus budget and our ability to have in-person activities remains unknown, questions that cannot be answered yet will be recorded and answered when information is available. Like our last forum, the session will be recorded and available on our forum webpage after the fact. The chancellor recorded a video message to express her gratitude to all the staff members who have helped the university fulfill its mission through a difficult year.

SAB Elections

The Staff Advisory Board is taking nominations from the staff community for candidates to run for open board seats. There are three openings for the 2020-21 year, and we are excited about new and engaged staff to join us in advocating for improvements to the staff experience at UCSC. We welcome self-nominations or the nomination of others you think would be good candidates. You can find our nomination form online or on our elections webpage. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, June 5.

Thumbs Up Awards

We are so delighted to reveal our updated Thumbs Up Award Program! We know our staff members look forward to it every year, and now, we plan for nominations to be open and awards to be sent all year round! Go send a hardworking staff member a Thumbs Up Award now, and bookmark our Thumbs Up webpage so you can send another one the next time one of our great staff members goes above and beyond!

As always, reach out to us with any questions, and thank you for your engagement!
