Dear UCSC Staff,
Thank you so much for your engagement with our Chancellor and Leadership Forum last week. We had over 800 unique viewers which is easily a record for a forum on our campus. If you were not able to view the forum live, you can find a recording of it on our Staff Advisory Board webpage, as well as the Slidedeck used by our presenters.
I recognize that our event was not perfect. I heard the voices of frustration at the beginning of our event as many folks hoped to get to the Q&A portion faster. I apologize for not being clearer on the agenda of the event. All of the leadership fora we have hosted have used a similar structure, and I made assumptions that people would be familiar with that format. I will do better in the future!
Our leadership team and I are committed to honoring the feedback we get from the campus community. We will be looking for a date in the next several weeks to schedule a second forum, this time devoted entirely to Q&A. In the meantime, the leadership team has been given the document of all the questions we received during the forum and will be working to answer them soon. We hope to post them on our website later this week as we get more of the questions answered.
Despite the imperfection, I hope that the forum last week was helpful. We know there are fears and questions we can't completely address yet, but I am convinced more information will be shared with us when it becomes available.
