Employee housing survey launches Wednesday

In spring 2019, the campus launched the planning efforts that would lead to the implementation of an employee housing project. As part of that project, it is important to assess the needs of faculty and staff with respect to their housing preferences. The 2020 Staff and Faculty Housing Survey will be launched Wednesday, Jan. 29.

This survey is an opportunity for employees to offer important feedback on your housing experience and preferences. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and is being administered by Brailsford & Dunlavey, an independent consulting firm retained by the campus.

The survey is designed to ensure the campus understands demand and preferences associated with expanding its existing employee housing options. The data collected through the survey will help the campus identify basic housing requirements and affordability price points. It will also allow the campus to test multiple scenarios to review financial feasibility of various options which would best support faculty and staff housing needs.

All information employees provide is strictly confidential and no individual responses will be identified. Please complete the survey by Wednesday, Feb. 19. Campus leaders thank everyone in advance for taking the time to participate and provide valuable feedback to the campus.

The campus is in the midst of adding more housing for students. The Kresge renewal project will increase the amount of undergraduate housing for current students. Additionally, Student Housing West—held up in litigation—will create 3,000 new beds on campus for current undergraduate and graduate students.
