Investigation of fire at Rachel Carson College (Case 19-1127)

UC Santa Cruz police are seeking the campus community’s help in the investigation of a small fire set on the second floor of a Rachel Carson College residence hall on Saturday.

Two name tags mounted on a door in Rachel Carson College B-L were set on fire around 3 a.m., causing minor damage. This incident was reported to police the evening of Nov. 21.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in or around the residence hall around that time is asked to call the campus dispatch center at 831-459-2231, Ext. 1. All crimes should be reported as soon as possible to the UC Santa Cruz Police Department. Timely warnings allow the department to provide information about campus safety and to help locate those responsible.
