Over the course of the past year, our community's input and feedback has helped shape our Strategic Academic Plan. We are extremely grateful for everyone's — especially the Academic Senate's — engagement, thoughtful contributions, and recommendations with this critical project.
I am excited that we will soon be welcoming Cynthia Larive to UC Santa Cruz as our next chancellor. During a recent one-day visit to campus to meet briefly with campus leadership, she expressed interest in getting involved in the strategic academic planning effort, which has been underway for nearly two years. I anticipate that once she arrives, Cynthia will want to take some time to identify how she would like to move forward with the SAP implementation. As a result, I expect distribution of the final plan will be delayed by a few months.
