Call for proposals—Recruitment and support of undergraduates from outside California

To: UC Santa Cruz Staff and Faculty

From: Richard Hughey, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education Jaye Padgett, Vice Provost for Student Success

UC Santa Cruz is committed to the academic success and graduation of students from both inside and outside California. In an effort to build its reputation as a national and international university, diversify the student body, and enhance the educational experience for all its students, UCSC is working to grow enrollment of undergraduate students from outside of California.

The Divisions of Undergraduate Education and Student Success seek proposals for one-time funding that serve to support recruitment and ensure the successful retention and graduation of non-resident undergraduates. A total of $200,000 will be available for fiscal year 2019-20, with individual projects awarded in the amount of $5,000-$15,000.

Successful proposals will show promise of sustained impact without an ongoing funding commitment from this source. (This includes projects that would be sustained at the unit level if deemed successful.)
