Dear Colleges Nine and Ten Community,
It is with great sadness that we write to share the news of the death of College Nine student, Sree Divya Alla. Divya passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Divya started at UCSC in Fall 2014 and was pursuing a degree in Biology. She was a vibrant member of our communities here at Colleges Nine and Ten. Divya was a student facilitator for College Nine’s Global Action course in 2017, where her efforts promoted community literacy and livelihoods in rural India. While a resident at the International Living Center (ILC), Divya served as an Orientation Leader and Culture Night facilitator. In addition, she worked as a Resident Assistant at Stevenson during the 2017-2018 school year, and was engaged with various student organizations. Divya was a very motivated and determined student who touched the lives of others with her kindness.
