Campus review: revised Workplace Violence Policy BAS-008

Business and Administrative Services invites comments on the proposed updates to the UC Santa Cruz Workplace Violence policy. The policy addresses intimidation, threats, and acts of violence in the workplace. 
Individuals who wish to provide comments on the proposed revisions (summaries and links below) should direct their comments to Elise McCandless at emccandl@ucsc.edu by Dec. 7,  2018.
Minor changes include minor wording changes, clarifications, structural changes (combining or reorganizing sections), addition of definitions and references, elimination of repetition, elimination of outdated requirements, fixed/changed links.
  • Substantive changes include the following:
  • Updated the purpose of the policy
  • Revised and added definitions  
  • Updated the policy statement
  • Separated policy from Violence in the Workplace Handbook
  • Added a getting help section
  • Added an applicability and authority section
  • Added related policies and references as well as a revision history

The current version is available online
If no substantial comments are received, this policy will be forwarded to the CP/EVC on Dec. 21, 2018 for approval. The revised policy will be effective as of the date of CP/EVC approval and published on the Administrative Policy website.
