Permit and bus pass renewal; North Remote changes

To: UC Santa Cruz Employees and Graduate Students

From: Transportation and Parking Services

Annual parking permits and faculty/staff Metro bus passes expire on June 30, 2018. Those who need to renew their parking permit or bus pass for 2018-19 can apply online now, or in person at the TAPS Sales Office. If you apply online by June 16th, and do not receive your permit by July 1, please come to the TAPS Sales Office in person to follow up.

If you have already applied for your 2018-19 parking permit, there is no need to reapply.

As a reminder, most parking fees will increase on July 1st – the last of three annual increases approved three years ago. The new rates are posted online at the TAPS website.

Staff and faculty with multi-year parking permits do not need to reapply in order to continue using their permit unless they want to select a different type of permit or want to purchase a 2018-19 Metro bus pass. If you are unsure if you have a multi-year permit, you can compare it to the online permit samples.

Please note that the North Remote lot is changing on September 1, 2018; R permits will no longer be valid there after that time. To better accommodate parking demand in the Engineering/Science Hill area of campus, the lot is being renamed the North Perimeter lot. A and B parking permits will be required in lower third of the lot; students with C parking permits will be able to park in the upper two-thirds of the lot.
