Donate at work. Change lives in our community.

To: UC Santa Cruz Staff and Faculty

From: 2018 UCSC United Way Campaign Committee

UC Santa Cruz has a long history of serving the greater community. Today, we are asking you to join hundreds of other staff and faculty to make a gift to the United Way of Santa Cruz County. Over the years, faculty and staff have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars through our annual UC Santa Cruz United Way Campaign. Your support helps many local organizations that give critical assistance to the most vulnerable among us.

This year’s UC Santa Cruz United Way Campaign pledge drive is May 14–26. Give now via credit card or through payroll deduction: www.unitedwaysc.org/ucsc

(If you wish to make a gift of cash or check, contact Fiona Weigant at fweigant@ucsc.edu in the Education Department on campus.)

No donation is too small to make a difference in our community!

We are donors to United Way because we know our gifts go so far and touch so many. 100% of money donated to the Community Investment Fund stays in our county.  They focus on youth success, family financial stability, and health because these are the building blocks for a good quality of life.

More than 75,000 (1 in 4) county residents last year received services from United Way programs such as 211 Services, a program designed to assist residents easily connect to a wide variety of health and human services; FamilyWize, a prescription drug discount card that lowers the price of eight out of 10 prescriptions; Health Care Outreach, which enrolls children in low-cost health insurance; and the Emergency Food and Shelter program, which augments the emergency food and shelter needs of county residents through qualified providers of services.

United Way of Santa Cruz County goes beyond temporary fixes to create lasting solutions that lift up our community in such areas as anti-gang outreach, youth violence prevention, technology literacy, and early education. Every dollar donated to the United Way of Santa Cruz County stays local.

We hope you will join us in supporting the United Way of Santa Cruz County and the many agencies in our community that help our citizens, neighbors, and friends.

Thank you for your support!
