Public presentations by candidates for dean of graduate studies

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Herbie Lee

Our campus is doing an internal recruitment for a vice provost and dean of graduate studies. The search committee, which I chair, has reviewed applications and identified the top three candidates. You are invited to attend their public presentations and to provide feedback to the search committee.

This is your opportunity to participate in the interview process. In case you are unable to attend the vision talks, each will be video-recorded and made available after all candidates have a chance to present (after May 31). Details are provided below.

Candidate materials will be accessible via the recruitment webpage. Please do not share candidate names, CVs or video recordings outside of the UC Santa Cruz community.
  • Candidate 1, Lori Kletzer: Friday, May 18, 9-10 a.m., Room 259, Humanities 2

  • Candidate 2, Ólöf Einarsdóttir: Tuesday, May 22, 1-2 p.m., Room 259, Humanities 2

  • Candidate 3: Nirvikar Singh: Thursday, May 31, 10-11 a.m., Room 259, Humanities 2

Following the talks, the search committee invites your input by Tuesday, June 5, via an online survey.

We hope you will actively participate in this important search, the outcome of which will be enhanced by widespread input. Please contact Kim Hwe at khwe@ucsc.edu or 831-459-1349 with any questions.
