With both entrances of main campus open, classes scheduled at the main and Coastal Science campuses starting at noon and later today can resume.
The campus community should allow extra time in traveling to campus, given the possibility of traffic congestion. People should continue to check campus communication channels, as we will provide updates should access become impeded again or if people have to be diverted from campus.
Instructors are encouraged to be flexible with attendance policies, given this morning’s disruptions.
Instructors are encouraged to communicate directly with their students to let them know whether classes are proceeding as normal or with alternate arrangements.
Students are encouraged to look for emails from their instructors with guidance for their courses. If proceeding with alternate arrangements, instructors and students should reach out to the Disability Resource Center for support and assistance with accessibility needs, if needed.
Faculty, staff, and students can return to campus, though some services and offices may not be open.
Staff members should check in with supervisors and managers to discuss returning to main campus or continuing with alternate work locations.
With the strike expected to continue Tuesday, I plan to send another early morning update to advise our campus community. Your patience and flexibility during this time is appreciated.
More information about the strike and the status of campus services can be found online at ucsc.edu/advisory.
