UC Santa Cruz is soliciting feedback on the environmental review for Student Housing West, a housing project that would substantially expand on-campus housing options for students.
People can learn more about the project and submit feedback during an information and scoping session from 6–8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Oakes College's Academic Building, Classroom 105.
Due to changes in the project's siting, the campus on Oct. 31 issued a revised Notice of Preparation, part of the environmental review for the 3,000-bed project.
In addition to being submitted during the scoping session, comments may be emailed to eircomment@ucsc.edu during the comment period, which ends at 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
The new beds will serve upper-division undergraduates, graduate students, and students with families.
The Student Housing West Project would construct approximately 2,900 student beds west of Heller Drive, and 125 units of housing for student families and a child care facility serving children of students and employees on Hagar Drive near the base of campus.
If you have any questions regarding the NOP or the information and scoping session please contact Alisa Klaus, senior environmental planner, at 831-459-3732.
