Dear Colleagues:
Hopefully you enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday and everything is going well with you!
As you may be aware, CP/EVC Tromp recently kicked-off a critical strategic academic planning (SAP) process that will build from the foundation established by Envision through a targeted focus on academic planning. This SAP process aims to identify, and then highlight and energize, academic areas that will strengthen the university, as a whole, and allow us to build stronger programs for students, create new research opportunities for faculty, and heighten our global impact.
Because you are a faculty member with an important perspective on UC Santa Cruz, I am writing on behalf of CP/EVC Tromp and Interim Associate Vice Provost Berger to ask if you would be willing to share your insights with us and the consultants from Entangled Solutions (ES), Gunnar Counselman and Jasmin Schiener. Gunnar and Jasmin plan to be on campus on Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6; and, we have set aside time for an open forum faculty meeting, 3:30-4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, December 6 in the Stevenson Event Center (location updated 12/2). We hope that this opportunity can help our consultants better understand faculty needs and perspectives.
We know how busy you are already, and I apologize in advance for springing this on you. Given the critical nature of this project, I am hoping for your understanding and a willingness to arrange or re-arrange (wherever possible). But I do want to let you know that there will be future opportunities to speak with our consultants and engage in our strategic academic planning process.
I suspect your calendars are very full, but if you can attend, RSVP via this link by Tuesday, December 5.
[Note that when the consultants are onsite, their schedules are very full with other group meetings. If you are a faculty member who is attending a different group meeting, i.e., SEC, the deans, the college provosts, etc., please plan to attend the meeting with your group. If you were invited to attend a group meeting, but your schedule does not permit your attendance, please feel free to RSVP for the faculty open forum.]
Many thanks in advance for your consideration!
