The National Weather Service is warning of hazardous conditions at area beaches through at least Saturday evening. Use caution when at the beach. The hazards include large shore break, strong rip currents, and possible sneaker waves.
Recommendations if going to the beach:
- Remain away from and out of the water during this swell event
- Always keep your eyes on the ocean
- Remain farther back from the water's edge and off of rocks and jetties.
- If an area is wet, assume another wave will be at that location again
- Don’t go in after pets that have been swept into the sea, most pets will make it out of the water on their own
More information is available on the National Weather Service website.
