Parking Management Starts September 1st at the Coastal Science Campus and 2300 Delaware

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Larry Pageler, Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) Director

Beginning September 1, 2017, UCSC parking permits will be required on the Coastal Science Campus (and at 2300 Delaware Avenue) weekdays from 8:00am–5:00pm, except holidays. The one exception to this requirement is the small visitor lot near the Coastal Science Campus (CSC) entrance, which provides free three-hour parking to coastal access visitors.

UCSC "A" permits (faculty and staff), "B" permits (graduate students), and "MC" (motorcycle) permits will be valid at most CSC parking lots. "C" or "R" permits (undergraduates) will not be valid.

Visitors to the CSC site will have access to paystations, located at each visitor parking lot ($1.50/hour). Seymour Marine Discover Center visitors will have their parking included in their admission fee.

Detailed parking lot information (e.g., permits required, overnight parking restrictions) is available online at the Coastal Science Campus website (https://coastalsciencecampus.ucsc.edu/parking/index.html).

SCMTD Metro will begin operating a new Route 22 bus between CSC and the main campus on Monday, September 25th. Route 22 service will operate hourly Monday through Friday; the first run from campus will arrive at CSC before the start of the first class period, and the last run departs for the main campus after the final class period ends. The Route 3 bus, which operates between the Metro Center and CSC, arrives at CSC seven times each weekday. All Metro buses are equipped with front-mounted racks that accommodate three bicycles.
