UC Santa Cruz has hired Traci Ferdolage to serve as the associate vice chancellor for Physical Planning, Development, and Operations. She starts in September.
Ferdolage comes from Humboldt State University where she serves as associate vice president of facilities management.
At Humboldt, Ferdolage is responsible for planning, design, and construction; operations and maintenance; energy and sustainability; parking and commuter Services; and real estate functions.
This new campus position was created by taking the associate vice chancellor for Physical Planning and Construction and restructuring it so that it will now oversee a new unit that combines PP&C, Physical Plant, and Real Estate.
"The major objective of the restructure is to enhance integration of facility planning, acquisition, construction, management, operation, maintenance and renewal in order to better serve the campus," said Sarah Latham, vice chancellor for Business and Administrative Services. "I believe Traci possesses the leadership capabilities to successfully advance this goal."
The search committee was chaired by Steve Stein, associate vice chancellor for Staff Human Resources.
