Project registration is underway for the second annual UC Santa Cruz Giving Day, to be held March 8, 2017. Students, faculty, and staff are eligible to create fundraising projects.
Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event to increase support for campus programs, projects, and groups. Project teams reach out to their network of supporters and friends to raise money and compete for prize dollars.
Last year, more than 60 campus projects were featured. Collectively, they raised $339,276 from 2,989 donors in a single day.
Organizers are encouraging interested campus groups to identify and register their projects now. Early registration increases opportunities to identify matching funds for projects. Last year, more than 20 projects had donor-sponsored matching funds that inspired others by matching gifts dollar-for-dollar.
At last year’s event, challenge prizes provided half a dozen opportunities for projects to win prizes ranging from $500 to $10,000 by attracting the highest number of donors in a specified amount of time.
Already, 22 projects are registered for Giving Day 2017. Register your project now!
Projects registered on or before end of day Thursday also have a chance to win $100 prizes toward their project in our early-entry raffle.
