To: UCSC Community

From: Nader Oweis, Chief of Police, UC Santa Cruz Police Department

The UC Santa Cruz Police Department has been alerted to several bias motivated packages containing a CD and note that have been left at several locations on campus yesterday afternoon and this morning. Inside the packages are references to the "white power movement," and a website known to be associated with white supremacists. Similar packages have also been found in the City of Santa Cruz.

An unknown white male wearing black clothing, and sunglasses with orange colored frames was seen leaving the packages near Merrill College. Anyone having information about the identity of this person of interest is encouraged to contact the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at 831-459-2231 ext. 1. Attached is an image of the male.
